This is another, closer view of one of the barns where my friend and I painted last Monday. Now that it is raining (and we really need the rain) I am so glad that we got to spend the afternoon painting that day. The weather was surprisingly warm with a deep blue sky and puffy cumulus clouds.

This painting was done in my studio from photos taken during the plein air session a few days ago. I love the comfortable, solid, settled-into-the-landscape feel of this old barn, and the warm reddish wood against the cooler tones of the trees.
